Section 1: Eligibility
- Will your project be completed by the 31st March 2026?
- Is your organisation (and any partner organisations to this application) a community organisation, social enterprise, public sector body, or a small or medium sized enterprise (SME) which is headquartered or with an operating address in Wales?
- Is the project located in Wales?
- Is your proposed grant application for capital related expenditure only?
- Does your SLES project incorporate at least two eligible technologies noted below (and in the guidance note)?
- Are all necessary statutory consents (eg. development planning and local distribution network operator) and other consents (eg. landlord) required in place, or is there clear evidence that such consents can be secured within the project timetable for deliverability?
- Have you sought advice or undertaken structural surveys to determine whether relevant buildings can accommodate your proposed project?
- Can you confirm your organisation owns or has a long term lease arrangement (minimum 3 years) for the land or building(s) where you wish to undertake your project? If you are delivering your project on building(s) or land that is not owned or leased by your organisation, please confirm that you have authority from the relevant property owner.
- Can you confirm that your application will meet the minimum match funding requirements set out in our guidance note for your type of organisations?
- Please note that grant monies paid to successful applicants are paid in arrears following the completion of works. Multiple claims can be made at the completion of key project milestones. Please confirm that your organisation is able to manage this from a cash flow perspective?

Section 10: Assessment criteria: Alignment with Ynni Cymru’s objectives

Section 11: Assessment criteria: Deliverability
- Please upload a detailed and credible timetable for delivery of the project, within the timetable applicants must propose project milestones (50%). Please download and complete Ynni Cymru's project schedule template. Please note you must use the provided template for your response. Please also provide a narrative to support your timetable in the box below, which includes:
- Details of planning considerations and engagement and confidence with planning authority
- DNO requirements and engagement
- Confidence in the timetable for procurement of contractors and materials.
- Details on the deployment – including a narrative of the logic and scheduling of activities (e.g., interdependencies – like fix the roof before putting up solar)
- How the key risks are accounted for in the planning
- Please provide a narrative setting out the resources and experience in place to support the delivery of the project. For example, please detail key personnel and any experience that your team has of delivering similar projects (25% - 750 word limit):
- Please upload a risk register for the project and explain the methodology used. In the text box, please set out the top three deliverability risks to the project and how you will seek to mitigate them (25% - 500 word limit for narrative)
Section 12: Assessment criteria: Benefits
- Please outline and where possible quantify the expected benefits of this project and how these will be realised. Benefits must extend beyond the applicant organisation. Please break your benefits down into wider social (eg. addressing inequality), economic (eg. energy cost savings) and environmental benefits (eg. carbon savings) in the three respective boxes below. Please explain your confidence in each benefit described.
Section 13: Assessment criteria: Project costs and procurement
- Please note the level of Ynni Cymru grant funding required by the project, and what proportion of the overall cost of the project this represents.
- Please outline how your project justifies public funding and represents good value for money. If match funding is required, please outline how your match-funding contribution meets the guidance (50% - 500 word limit per section):
