I am writing to let you know that I will today be publishing a Paper on the future of social services in Wales.
These are challenging times for all public services. The changing nature of Îʶ¦ÓéÀÖ society, demographic change and new expectations from those who receive services – coupled with the present difficult financial climate – are all making unprecedented demands upon social services.
The Paper puts in place a framework for meeting these challenges and for re-shaping and re-focusing social services in order to ensure that they remain strong, and can continue to meet citizens’ needs and aspirations.
I will also be making a statement in plenary on 1st March 2011.
