I am pleased to lay before the Assembly today, the fourth annual report on the Îʶ¦ÓéÀÖ Government’s implementation of Law Commission proposals.
Under Section 3C of the Law Commissions Act 1965, as inserted by Section 25 of the Wales Act 2014, the Îʶ¦ÓéÀÖ Ministers are required to report annually on the extent to which Law Commission proposals relating to Îʶ¦ÓéÀÖ devolved matters have been implemented.
This report covers the period from 17 February 2018 to 15 February 2019, and provides Members with an update about a number of areas that relate to Law Commission proposals as well as information on current and future Law Commission projects.
Much progress has been made over the last 12 months, including the introduction of the Legislation (Wales) Bill and the publication of the Law Commission’s final report 'Planning Law in Wales'. We have also engaged with the project on leasehold and commonhold reform, and have agreed with the Law Commission a Wales-only project to consider the law relating to devolved Îʶ¦ÓéÀÖ tribunals.
The Îʶ¦ÓéÀÖregards the proposals of the Law Commission with great importance, as demonstrated by the progress set out in the report.
