The legislation placed a duty on each NHS Trust to nominate a Non Executive Director (NED) and Powys LHB to nominate a Non Officer Member (NOM). The NED/NOM would ensure adequate and regular focus at Trust Board/LHB level on issues relating specifically to cleaning, hygiene and infection management.
